Upon opening a chest, gain an extra item from the loot table of that chest. Each stack grants an additional 5% chance for an extra item to be obtained. All stacks are consumed upon opening the first chest per stage, and it regenerates are the beginning of each stage.

• This item works on Equipment Barrels.
• This item works on the Rusty Lockbox.
  • However, it does not work on the Survivors of the Void - DLC Content

Math

Sale Star can grant up to 4 additional items, for up to 5 items from a single chest. The chance to obtain additional items after the first extra one depends on how many Sale Stars the player is holding.

• At 2 Sale Stars: after the first extra item, 3 rolls occur:
  • A 30% chance to get a third item from a chest
  • A further 15% chance to get a fourth item
  • A further 1% chance to get a fifth item
• At 3 Sale Stars and above: the above rolls occur, but each Sale Star adds an extra 5% chance for each roll to succeed.

These rolls are affected by luck.

"What IS it though? I thought it threw an alert?"

"Well it’s not anymore, maybe the scanner is finally goin’." One Cadet flips the star around and squints. "I think there’s a B carved into it…"

"Wish it would, they won’t send us a new one until this fossilizes." The other Cadet slaps the scanner.

A visiting General turns the corner and cuts in, "Problem, Cadets?"

Both Cadets squeal and snap to attention, saluting the General. The suspicious star clatters down the approval chute with a loud affirming buzz.

The General turns to hide a grin as he leaves, "As you were."

The Cadets exchange a nervous glance over the chute. Probably nothing.
