Seekers of the Storm expansion, most commonly found in Stage 1 Environments. It is the most easily accessible method of entering the Path of the Colossus.

After interacting with a Halcyon Shrine, it will rise from the ground and siphon gold from nearby players in a spherical radius around itself. After siphoning 75 gold (scaling with time), players can interact with the shrine again to stop it from charging or let it keep charging to receive additional rewards (at 150 and 300 gold siphoned, respectively). After siphoning 300 gold, the shrine will automatically stop charging.

If a Green Portal has already been traveled through at least once in a run, all future Halcyon Shrines in that run will instead spawn a Gold Portal to the Gilded Coast.png Gilded CoastGilded Coast.pngGilded Coast (Hidden Realm)
Hidden Realm: Gilded Coast
You dream of wealth.

This area is where the player fights the boss Aurelionite, the Titanic Goldweaver.
. Halcyon Shrines will always spawn a Gold Portal on Stage 4 and Stage 5 environments regardless of whether a Green Portal has been used.

Credits

The shrine requires 300 gold, scaled by difficulty, in order to fully charge. However, at 75 and 150 it crosses the minimum and medium thresholds, indicated by a visual and auditory effect. Once the minimum threshold has been crossed, the players can "pray" to the shrine by interacting with it again to terminate the charging process.

The shrine drains 1 gold every 0.2 seconds from up to 4 players that are within a 30-meter radius. For a single player it requires 60 seconds to fully charge it.

The Combat Director related to the shrine has 100 credits, also scaled by difficulty. Once the shrine is activated it spends all of its credits spawning Stone Golems in any required numbers and Elite modifiers. It also spawns another round of Stone Golems with the same number of credits when crossing the minimum and medium thresholds respectively. At a difficulty value of 1 killing all the Stone Golems will net the player 63 gold, or 21% of the total gold required to fully charge the shrine. However, as the difficulty increases the gold earned from the Stone Golems will solely be sufficient to fully pay off the shrine's requirements.

Aurelionite Fragment

An Aurelionite Fragment

Aurelionite Fragments are unique objects similar to Void Potential orbs that present a selection of items. The amount of items on display in each Aurelionite Fragment and the amount of items that can be chosen from each depends on how much the Halcyon Shrine was charged before triggering the Halcyonite encounter.

Besides from Halcyon Shrines, Aurelionite Fragments can also spawn in SotS Icon.pngSotS Icon.pngSeekers of the Storm - DLC Content

If instead the CommandArtifact of Command is enabled, n-2 command cubes will be dropped, where n is the number of item choices for each threshold, i.e., 1 for minimum, 2 for medium, and 3 command cubes for the maxed out threshold. If the shrine has not been fully charged, items from pool A will be selected, else from pool B. While with the Artifact of Command the player can choose any item, whether an item is selected from pool A or pool B affects the rarity distribution due to the drop chance bias, which in turn affects how likely a common, uncommon, or legendary command cube will be dropped.

Fully charging a Halcyon Shrine on a Stage 1, 2, or 3 environment will spawn a Green Portal. Taking the portal will transition to the next stage, even if the Teleporter has not been activated yet. The destination of Green Portals depends on the stage it appears on:

  • Gold: The shrine has spawned on any Stage 1, 2, or 3 Environment and the player has already taken a Green Portal.
  • Gold: The shrine has spawned on any Stage 4 or 5 Environment.

Notes

  • There is no penalty to leaving the shrine's radius while it is active.
  • A viable strategy is to activate the shrine and quickly leave it to farm gold from the high value enemies instead of progressing the shrine.
  • If the stage has reached the limit of 40 monsters, the Golems that spawn upon activating the shrine or crossing a gold threshold will not spawn, even if the player later kills any monsters.
    • On the other hand, the Halcyonite will spawn once a monster has been killed. However, due to how the Combat Director works, the initial failure to spawn the Halcyonite results in selecting a new Director Card, which will most likely not be another Halcyonite. Nevertheless, the spawned monster will still be a Gilded Elite and killing it will drop any Aurelionite Fragments.
  • If a stage contains a Halcyon Shrine with a green orb, the message "You hear thunder rumbling." will appear in chat at the start of the stage. When the Green Portal spawns, the message "The storm beckons." will appear.
    • If the Halcyon Shrine has a gold orb, the message "A gold orb appears.." will appear instead.
  • The amount of gold drained per tick and the cost to charge the Halcyon Shrine scales with difficulty.

Trivia

  • The Halcyon Shrine can only spawn on locations that are marked as "NoCeiling", similar to the survivor pods at the beginning of the game. This along with the scattered pieces around the shrine itself imply that the construct is not native to Petrichor V, but has instead crashed into it.
    • The Lunar Pod is another such interactable that requires the "NoCeiling" flag.
